There are essential 6 phases to the making of a book: Conception, Development, Planning, Production, Distribution and Promotion. Within each of these phases are multiple steps and processes that need to be coordinated to create the best product possible.
Conception
So you want to be a writer? or You have a project in mind but aren’t sure how to achieve the best result.
The conception phase is often the most fun phase but it is also where the real work begins. Many authors will put their heads down and write furiously for a year or more and then look up and find they’ve created something not fit for the market.
We recommend people first start with free online resources, or join a professional organisation such as the Australia Society of Authors. There are also services that offer coaching and mentoring as well as Writers Workshops and Training.
